The Storytellers – Exeter Cathedral – 7th – 10th January 2026

Luxmuralis returned to Exeter Cathedral with The Storytellers, a mesmerising light and sound installation that transformed the historic building into a vibrant celebration of storytelling in all its forms. Over the course of the event, audiences were invited to step inside a truly immersive experience that brought centuries of stories vividly to life.

Visitors journeyed through a series of spectacular sound and light artworks, each representing a chapter in the history of storytelling. From the earliest oral traditions to the enduring classics of world literature, The Storytellers guided audiences through ancient texts and into the imaginative worlds of renowned authors. Children’s classics, fantasy, romance, poetry and legends were all beautifully represented, with each genre illuminated through striking visual projections and accompanied by a rich, evocative soundscape.

The interplay of light, music and architecture created moments of awe throughout the Cathedral, enhancing its grandeur while offering a fresh perspective on humanity’s timeless tradition of sharing stories. The experience was both reflective and uplifting, inviting visitors of all ages to reconnect with the power of words, imagination and collective memory.
