The Elements – Leicester Cathedral – 10th – 15th November 2025
Following the overwhelming success of last year’s Space installation — which drew more than 6,000 visitors — Leicester Cathedral once again became the stage for a breathtaking fusion of art, light, and music. This autumn, the renowned creative team Luxmuralis returned with The Elements, an awe-inspiring exploration of the natural world and our planet’s ever-changing beauty.
Over several nights, the Cathedral’s historic walls and stained-glass windows were brought vividly to life through dazzling digital projections, transporting audiences on a journey through Earth’s evolution — from molten beginnings and volcanic eruptions to the tranquil depths of the oceans and the vastness of the skies above.
The Elements blended colour, motion, sound, and storytelling to reflect on the relationship between humanity and the environment. The result was a truly immersive experience that invited visitors to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the wonder of the natural world.
Families, photographers, and art lovers alike gathered to witness Leicester Cathedral transformed into a glowing canvas of light and sound. Many shared their own moments online, capturing the vibrant imagery and atmospheric soundtrack that made the experience so memorable.
For Leicester Cathedral, The Elements continued its growing tradition of hosting innovative artistic collaborations that celebrate both creativity and community. The event offered visitors — whether long-time locals or first-time guests — a new way to experience one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
As the final lights faded, The Elements left a lasting impression: a reminder of nature’s power, beauty, and the delicate balance that sustains our world.
