‘Poppy Fields / Imagine Peace’ – Lichfield Cathedral

‘Poppy Fields / Imagine Peace’ – Lichfield Cathedral – 6th – 13th November 2021

This all- embracing sound and light show saw projected poppies cascade down the ceiling, walls and floor of the stunning 900 year old Cathedral, calling us to remember all those who have fought so valiantly for our peace and safety.

Poppy Fields gave visitors a much-needed opportunity to reflect not only on past and present conflicts, but also the global pandemic which continues to affect us all.

The 2021 version of Poppy Fields also featured the main show from Luxmuralis’ much loved ‘Imagine Peace’. This stunningly beautiful son et lumiere brought the east end of the Cathedral to life with its poignant message of hope for the future. In addition, the first public showing of a work created in 2020, to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale for International Nurses Day, was also presented in this newly curated version of the event as a tribute to the NHS.
